Eleftherios Bournousouzis

Eleftherios Bournousouzis graduated in Physiotherapy, focuses his clinical and research practice in neuromusculoskeletal rehabilitation, and is passionate for health policies and patients’ rights.

He received his Master Degree in Health Care Management (MSc) for a thesis focused on the evaluation of physiotherapy treatment on quality of life of people suffering from spine musculoskeletal disorders (cervical and lumbar spine pain) with the use of Oswestry Disability Index and EQ-5D questionnaires.

He was Vice President of the A PESYP (1st Health District) of Attica, responsible for health coverage in the Olympic and Paralympics Period Ministry of Health [28/07/2004 – 09/02/2007], Vice President of A DYPE (1st Health District) of Attica, in charge of social welfare policies developed within the region, Advisor to the Mayor of Athens (2007-2010) and Former President of the Regional Department of Attica & Public Relations and Treasurer of the Panhellenic Association of Physiotherapists.

Currently, alongside his work as Head of Department of Epidemiology and Prevention of Injuries, Directory of Epidemiology and Prevention of Non-Communicable Diseases and Injuries, NPHO, he is carrying out research for his PhD, focusing in the study of the incidence of Breast Cancer in the Greek population in the years and the role of physiotherapy in the quality of life.

He is 2nd Vice President & Public Relations Manager of Panhellenic Association of Physiotherapists, Member of the National Control Committee for the Protection of the Rights of the Recipients of Health Services, Member of the Advocacy & EU Matters Working Group, Europe Region World Physiotherapy
